"V.I.P. to G-O-D" Lyrics & Bible Points

“V.I.P. to G-O-D” (from the CD "You're a V.I.P. to G-O-D")
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2003 Rob Biagi Music/BMI

you’re a V.I.P. to G-O-D
you were made in His image; it’s easy to see
you’re a V.I.P. to G-O-D
you’re His favorite creation and you’ll always be a V.I.P.

God makes millions of faces
He knows each one, and
your face is happy and cheerful
He made you fun…
joyful! delightful! “exciteful!” yes, that’s true, so say,
“God made me God loves me
He knows the real me!” yes, indeed!

you’re a V.I.P. to G-O-D
you were made in His image; it’s easy to see
you’re a V.I.P. to G-O-D
you’re His favorite creation and you’ll always be a V.I.P.

God makes millions of big hearts, that He adores, and
your heart is jumpin’ and jivin’ you’re just more joyful! delightful! “exciteful!”
yes, that’s true, so say,
“God made me. God loves me. He knows the real me!”

“you’re a V.I.P. to G-O-D
you were made in His image; it’s easy to see
you’re a V.I.P. to G-O-D
you’re His favorite creation and you’ll always be a V.I.P.”

you are His favorite creation and you’ll always be a V.I.P.

if God is for us, who can be against us? “NOBODY!” [that’s right]
if God’s hand has made me then I must be a V.I.P.

i’m a V.I.P. to G-O-D
i was made in His image; it’s easy to see
i’m a V.I.P. to G-O-D
i am His favorite creation
unique as can be!

a V.I.P. – that’s me!

"V.I.P. to G-O-D" is basic, foundational theology that tell kids and families they are "Very Important People" to God.  It has been a favorite of kids worldwide since its release in 2003.

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: Acoustic band pop, rock-pop.  A swingin', high-energy, mid-tempo rock-pop song.  Bright, happy vocals sit on top of crunchy, energetic guitars. The drummer sounds a bit like "Animal" from "The Muppet Show."

IF YOU'RE TEACHING:
- You matter to God
- You were created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26-27)
- Basic, foundational theology
- "If God is for us, who can be against us?"
- Each person God creates is unique (you are wonderfully and fearfully made)

KEY LYRIC: "You're a V.I.P. to G-O-D; you were made in his image - it's easy to see..."

LITTLE KNOWN FACT: Will Denton, former drummer for [Legendary Christian Artist] Steven Curtis Chapman, played this drum track in one take - without warming up!  Rob was there in a Nashville recording studio to witness it!

“Jesus the Soccer Star?” (from the CD "You're a V.I.P. to G-O-D")
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2003 Rob Biagi Music/BMI

the Bible says that Jesus wants to be with me
the Bible says He cares when I am blue
the Bible says that Jesus was a joyful human man
so how would He live with me and you?
would…He…be…

Jesus the soccer star? - would He play with us?
Jesus the music star? - or would He drive the bus?
Jesus the big, tough guy - or would He treat my brother cool?
or would He say, “I just came here – to love you!”?
to love you-oo-oo, yeah

the Bible says that Jesus wants to be with me
the Bible says He cares when i am blue – boo hoo!

the Bible says that Jesus was a joyful human man
so how would He live with me and you?
would…He…be…

Jesus the soccer star? - would He play with us?
Jesus the music star? - or would He drive the bus?
Jesus the big, tough guy - or would He treat my brother cool?
or would He say, “I just came here – to love you!”?

the Bible says that Jesus wants to be with me - that’s right…
the Bible says He cares when i am blue – boo-oo hoo-hoo!

the Bible says that Jesus was a joyful human man
so how would He live with me and you?
would…He…be…

Jesus the soccer star? - would He play with us?
Jesus the music star? - or would He drive the bus?
Jesus the big, tough guy - or would He treat my brother cool?

Jesus the soccer star? - would He play with us?
Jesus the music star? - or would He drive the bus?
Jesus the big, tough guy - or would He treat my brother cool?
or would He say, “I just came here – to love you!”?

to love you…to love…you guys!

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :

"Jesus the Soccer Star?" is arguably Rob's biggest hit song.  It tells the historical truth that Jesus Christ [God the Son] left his rightful place in heaven to solve the sin problem of mankind [every person who repents of their sin and trusts in Christ's substitutionary life, death on the cross, burial, and resurrection from the dead.]  Plus, it gives a fun twist: if we were alive back in the time of Christ's earthly ministry and we had a game of soccer going, would Jesus want to join in the game?

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: Acoustic band pop, rock-pop, Nashville/country.

IF YOU'RE TEACHING:
- Jesus left heaven to be with people
- Jesus cares about every situation life brings us
- What is the nature of God? [answer: God is everything, so he experienced everything: sadness, joy, laughter, play]

KEY LYRIC: "The Bible says that Jesus wants to be with me.  The Bible says He cares when I am blue - boo hoo.  The Bible says that Jesus was a joyful human [God-] man.  So how would He live with me and you...?"

LITTLE KNOWN FACT: The "would He drive the bus?" line actually questions whether Jesus would drive the tour bus for "the band," not a school bus, as is commonly thought.

“The Bug Song” (from the CD "You're a V.I.P. to G-O-D")
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2003 Rob Biagi Music/BMI

i don’t mean to bug you
but God loves you!
i don’t mean to bug you
but God knows who you are!
i don’t mean to bug you
but God loves you!
He’s got a big, big love for little, little you
i don’t mean to bug you
but God loves you!

Q: what if I do something that’s not nice?
(A: that’s called being a “stink bug”)

when you’re a stink bug - God loves you!
when you’re a stink bug - God knows who you really are!
when you’re a stink bug - God loves you!
He’s got a sweet, sweet love for stinky, stinky you
when you’re a stink bug – God loves you!

let’s hear all the girl bugs make some noise!
what about all those “tough guy” bugs – let me hear you!
how about the grown-up bugs?!
you know God loves you!

Q: what if someone is picking on me?
(A: ahh…when you get “squashed”)

when you get squashed
God loves you!

Q: what if i’m annoying my Dad?”
(A: when you’re creepy…God knows who you are!)

i’m shy…
when you’re in your cocoon
God loves you!
absolutely no matter what! –
He’s got a big, big love for little, little you
“everybuggy” – God loves you!

everybuggy – God loves you!
everybuggy – God knows who you are
everybuggy – say, “God loves you!” Yes, He do!
He’s got a big, big love for little, little you
everybuggy – God loves you!

oh! - catch the buzz about God’s love!

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :

"The Bug Song" is Rob's biggest hit for younger kids [ages 2-7].  It's very clever [when you sin, you're being a "stink bug"].  It's also very fast, high-energy, and joyful.  Lots of opportunities to cheer, sing, dance, whoop it up!

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: Fast tempo - Acoustic band ska, pop with horns.

IF YOU'RE TEACHING:
- The Gospel Message
- "While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." - (Romans 5:8)
- God is BIG in every way, people are little [and dependent] in every way
- God has a BIG love for us!
- God makes an "informed decision" when he calls you [He knows you fall short, and He invites you to repent and be forgiven anyway].
- Nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus - (Romans 8:39)

KEY LYRIC: "When you're a stink bug, God loves you...He's got a sweet, sweet love for stinky, stinky you.  When you're a stink bug God loves you!"

LITTLE KNOWN FACT: In the key change toward the end of the song, one of the horn players hits a wrong note, and Rob failed to fix it in the audio editing process. Can you find it?

“I Go to Jesus” (from the CD "You're a V.I.P. to G-O-D")
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2003 Rob Biagi Music/BMI

I’m feeling good today – I go to Jesus
‘Cause He knows what it’s like to celebrate with his friends

I feel so good today – I go to Jesus
‘Cause He knows what it’s like to be walking right along with the Father

I’m going straight to the top (Monday-Tuesday)
Where miracles don’t stop (Wednesday-Thursday)
Straight to the top (Friday-Saturday)
Sunday – fun day, LET’S GO!

I’m feeling bad today – I “crawl“ to Jesus
‘Cause he knows what it’s like to need a lift from the Father
I need a friend today – I go to Jesus
‘Cause He knows what it’s like to be teased and hurt and made fun of – yes He does

I’m going straight to the top (Monday-Tuesday)
Where miracles don’t stop (Wednesday-Thursday)
Straight to the top (Friday-Saturday)
Sunday – fun day, LET’S GO!

I go to Jesus
I go to Jesus
Yeah – yeah – yeah, LET’S GO!

Straight to the top (Monday-Tuesday)
Where miracles don’t stop (Wednesday-Thursday)
Straight to the top (Friday-Saturday)
Sunday – fun day, LET’S GO!

I go to Jesus

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :

"I Go to Jesus (Straight to the Top)" is a funky, rockin' song about prayer.  It's a tough-sounding track with great motions and a sing-along chorus.  It appeals to kids all the way up to 6th grade.

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: a little big reggae/calypso, a little bit rock, with a clear pop vocal [great background vocals, too].

IF YOU'RE TEACHING:
- Prayer
- Prayer in good times and bad times
- Consistent, daily, "throughout-the-day" prayer
- Jesus understands what we humans go through
- "Walking With Jesus"
- Jesus' miracles

KEY LYRIC: "He [Jesus] knows what it's like to need a lift from the Father...I'm goin' straight to the Top, where miracles don't stop..."

and let Him live in you
carry the light of the Lord
and you will shine like new!

carry His love in your heart and explore! ungh!

people will start to know all about your God
and about His Son!

and let Him live in you
carry the light of the Lord
and you will shine like new!

carry His love in your heart and explore! ungh!
carry the light of the Lord!

our Lord shines so bright
we are not curious, no
we know where that joy comes from – yeah!
He shines so bright in us, that
people will HAVE to know all about our God, and about His Son!

carry the light of the Lord - and let Him live in you
carry the light of the Lord - and you will shine like new!

carry His love in your heart and explore! ungh!
carry the light of the Lord

carry the light of the Lord!

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :

"Carry the Light" is a mid-tempo, sing-along chorus about "shining the light of Christ" to a dark world.  It's a simple song about "letting Christ live in you."  It includes a grunt, which boys and men [in particular] love!  Even if the boys won't sing and dance - they'll usually grunt!  This song works great at live concerts, when Rob often brings Dads up from the audience with their kids to do the motions and grunt.

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: Acoustic band pop (acoustic guitar, drums, electric bass, electric guitar), campfire-rock, pop.

IF YOU'RE TEACHING:
- Representing Jesus Christ
- Evangelism
- Obedience
- Joy
- Purity

KEY LYRIC: "ungh!" [the grunt part]

LITTLE KNOWN FACT: God used this song [and three years' time] to turn some "bored 6th grade boys" into "9th graders who lead Kids' Worship"!  Their KidMin Director didn't scold them for not singing and dancing - she just encouraged them to "keep grunting," and - in three years' time - they became High School freshmen who loved to sing, dance, and worship the One True God [and lead younger children to learn to do the same]!

“You Say, ‘Imagine’” (from the CD "You're a V.I.P. to G-O-D")
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2003 Rob Biagi Music/BMI

what can i say to the God who makes my heart beat?
Who made up a plan just for me
long, long ago?
and what must i do to give You my whole heart and soul?
it’s for You i want You to know
that i am Your child

and what, what could we do – if i gave all of me to You?
and where, where would we go – if i really learned to follow?

You say, “imagine.”
You say, “follow.”
You say, “open your life to Me; you’ll see.”
You say, “imagine.”

what can i say to the God who makes my heart beat?
Who made up a plan just for me
long, long ago?
oh, what must i do – to give You my whole heart and soul?
it’s for You i want You to know
that i am Your child

and what, what will we do – as i give all of me to You?
and where, where will we go – when i give You my life and let go?

ah…You say, “Imagine.” yeah!
You say, “follow.”
You say, “trust your whole life to Me; you’ll see.”
You say, “imagine. I have something for you.”
You say, “follow. Watch and see what we’ll do!
You have given your life to Me; watch and you’ll see!”…

You say, “Imagine.”
…i will…

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :

"You Say, 'Imagine'" is a soaring, powerful song about responding to the call of God to receive his grace and love and to respond with obedience, sacrifice, and hope.  The second chorus [in particular] is especially powerful as it swells up and takes off. Based on Ephesians 3:20 and inspired by a capital campaign at Rob's church, this song is designed to get the listener to "imagine" where a sold-out life [to the Lordship of Christ] might go.

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: World music, big, ambient sound.  Lots of keyboards and heavy drums.  More "adult contemporary" than the rest of the CD.  Definitely a "listening" song, but people have done dances to it, ice skated to it, and even done American Sign Language to it.

IF YOU'RE TEACHING:
- Obedience
- The Lordship of Jesus Christ
- God is our Creator; we are not our own [we must surrender to His will for our lives]
- God has a plan for you [though it may not always seem "good" - it is!]
- Being a child of God
- Surrender to God
- [biblical] Imagination and wonder :D

KEY LYRIC: "What will we do – as i give all of me to You?  And where, where will we go – when i give You my life and let go?  You say, “Imagine.” yeah!  You say, “follow.”  You say, “trust your whole life to Me; you’ll see.  You’ll see, yeah!”  You say, “imagine.  I have something for you.”
You say, “follow.  Watch and see what we’ll do!  You have given your life to Me; watch and you’ll see!..."

LITTLE KNOWN FACT: "You Say, 'Imagine'" has been used by God to inspire many people.  People have started jewelry-making businesses, drawn closer to God in regular, consistent prayer, and even increased their giving to their local churches and parachurch ministries because they sensed God challenging them with this song.

“On Your Way to Heaven” (from the CD "You're a V.I.P. to G-O-D")
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2003 Rob Biagi Music/BMI

Jesus is the way to heaven, don’t you see?
Jesus is the way to heaven, do you believe?
just say, “yeah, yeah. i will trust in Jesus”
then you’re on your way to heaven, oh yeah

Jesus is the way to heaven, don’t you see?
i read Jesus is the way to heaven, do you believe?
then say, “yeah, yeah. i will follow Jesus”
and you’re on your way to heaven, oh yeah
oh yeah!

don’t you want to know how Jesus really looks?
don’t you want to tell Paul, “thanks for all your books?”
don’t you want to hang with Moses, David, and John the Baptist, too?
there is only one Place where that’s what you’ll get to do!

if you want to go to heaven, what say you?
if you want to go to heaven – this is what you do
you say, “yeah, yeah. i give my life to Jesus”
and you’re on your way to heaven, oh yeah

don’t you want to surf and skate and never fall?
don’t you want to be made “perfect” after all?
don’t you want to see the face of God smiling all day through?
there is only one Place where that’s what you’ll get to do

now that you are going to heaven, please be kind
i said now that you are going to heaven, don’t leave your friends behind
tell them, “yeah, yeah. give your life to Jesus
and you’re on your way to heaven, oh yeah!”
yeah you’re on your way to heaven, yeah yeah

oh – you’ll be on your way to heaven…

oh yeah…yeah, yeah
oh yeah – yeah – yeah!

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :

"On Your Way to Heaven" is a "Beatle-esque" song that talks about sacrificing your agenda to live for Christ.

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: 1960s pop/rock.  Drums, bass, two guitars and vocals.  Simple vocal harmonies and a solid backbeat.

IF YOU'RE TEACHING:
- Salvation
- Trusting Christ [for salvation, and daily leading]
- Evangelism
- Faith
- Heroes of the Faith (Moses, David, John the Baptist, et. al.)
- Heaven

KEY LYRIC: "Jesus is the way to heaven..."

LITTLE KNOWN FACT: Rob had asked a British acquaintance of his to sing the background vocals, but [as it turns out] Rob changed the part during the mixdown process, rendering what the British guy had done unusable.  Rob replaced all the background vocals, layering his voice 4 times on the computer to cover all the parts.

Wake Up! (:14 sound fx track) (from the CD "You're a V.I.P. to G-O-D")

[playing on CD/alarm clock]: you're a V.I.P. to G-O-D, you were made in his image..."

Rob: [turning off CD/alarm clock, grunting, awakening] "oh, yeah!"

Yeah, that's why it's only $.10 :D

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :

This track is a 14-second, "lead-in" sound effects track for the song "Skip Sleepin' In."  It should have been part of "Skip," but Rob backed off at the urging of the recording engineer.  Now, in the age of downloads, the two pieces of the song have been separated.

The sound effects are:
- a CD/alarm clock spinning & playing to awaken Rob
- Rob yawning and waking up
- Rob hitting the buttons and realizing he gets to wake up and go to church

"Skip Sleepin’ In" (from the CD "You're a V.I.P. to G-O-D")
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2003 Rob Biagi/BMI

I’m gonna skip sleepin’ in and go to church
I’m gonna skip sleepin’ in and go to church
I’m gonna dance all around
Mom & Dad don’t go slow now
‘Cause I skipped sleepin’ in; I’m goin’ to church!

I’m gonna hop outta bed and fill my head
I’m gonna hop outta bed and fill my head
I don’t care if I’ve got “bed-head”
I heard what the Teacher said,
“You gotta hop outta bed and fill your head with the Word of God!”

I gotta pray…’cause God loves my voice
I gotta make…a joyful noise!
I’m gonna praise from my gut
Because you know what?
I’m gonna skip sleepin’ in and go to church!

I’m gonna jump at the chance to tell my friends
I’m gonna jump at the chance to tell my friends
“By the time Kids’ Church is through
You’ll get a chance to be made new
If you skip sleepin’ in and come to church.”

You gotta pray…’cause God loves your voice
You gotta make…a joyful noise!
You oughta praise from your gut
Because I tell you what -
You oughta skip sleepin’ in and go to church

I’m gonna skip sleepin’ in and go to church (sleepy)

I’m gonna skip sleepin’ in and go to church!

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :

"Skip Sleepin' In" is from the kids'-eye view.  "The kid" doesn't want to miss Kids' Church [and worship/music time in particular], so - after thinking about all the fun and educational components of Sunday morning, "the kid" turns to waking up his parents and asking them to "not go slow."  As always, the motions "lift" this song.  The church kids get a chance to skip, jump, hop, and holler out.

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: a 60s funk [James Brown]-sounding song with funky beats, a great bass guitar line, swirling organ, and some tasty [Aretha Franklin wannabe] background vocal stabs.

IF YOU’RE TEACHING
- The importance of church [Kids' Church in particular]
- The power of learning the Bible
- Family Togetherness/Dynamics
- Evangelism
- Salvation/The Gospel of Repentance and Faith in Christ

KEY LYRIC: "I don’t care if I’ve got 'bed-head'. I heard what the Teacher said,  'You gotta hop outta bed and fill your head with the Word of God!'"

LITTLE KNOWN FACT: Rob was inspired to write this by Parker W., a kid at his church. Parker didn't want to miss Kids' Worship, which started promptly at 9am every Sunday. He didn't want his parents to go slow and "make him miss" the start of music time, so he learned to make coffee for his parents.

“I Am Just Gonna Praise You” (from the CD "You're a V.I.P. to G-O-D")
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2003 Rob Biagi Music/BMI

I am just gonna praise You
That’s what I was made to do
I am just gonna sing out loud
And send some love back up to You!

When you first say, “I believe!”
There’s lots of things that you should do:
Love God, love people and pray to name a few
Let’s not make it complicated;
Let’s not think ‘til we turn blue

Just help me, Jesus – help me now to do what I should do

I am just gonna praise You
That’s what I was made to do
I am just gonna sing out loud
And send some love back up to You!

As you get older things seem fine
But everybody wants your mind
School and sports and church and family and your PS2
God is busy waiting for you;
He can’t wait to hear your voice

Put the Game Boy down, wipe that frown
Turn your day around

Chorus

You say You will fight for me
That You take great delight in me
So I will jump and hang on, Jesus
I will not let You go!

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :

"I Am Just Gonna Praise You" is a joyful, guitar-strumming declaration of praise and worship to God.  Very "sing-along," with lots of vocal stacks.

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: Acoustic & electric guitars strumming, big drums, lots of vocals.

IF YOU’RE TEACHING:
- Praise and Worship [why, how, when to…]
- Priorities in the Christian life
- Basics of the Christian life

KEY LYRIC: "I am just gonna praise You. That’s what I was made to do…"

LITTLE KNOWN FACT: Rob wrote the chorus of this song when he was walking back from his neighborhood chicken restaurant back in 2003.

"Everyone Has a Gift" (from the CD "You're a V.I.P. to G-O-D")
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2003 Rob Biagi Music/BMI

God does not make mistakes – He did good when he made you
Yeah – yeah. He made you good.
So you better ask yourself – what am I supposed to be
With the one and only life God gave me?

Some of us can sing. Some of us can dance.
All of us can love when we get the chance!

Everyone has a gift inside them
Everyone has somethin’
You use yours; I’ll use mine
Jesus will be glorified as we
Open up our hearts to sing His praise…yeah…

Everybody messes up. We forget to include You
Yes we do. We are busy!
But when we finally make it through
We look back and we see You guided us through everything, You showed us the way

Some of us can sing
Some of us can dance
All of us can love; we’re gonna get the chance right now!

Everyone has a gift inside them
Everyone has somethin’
You use yours; I’ll use mine
Jesus will be glorified as we
Open up our hearts to praise…yeah…

God put something deep in your heart – that’s right
He didn’t skip you; He didn’t forget about you
So come alive! Learn to fly! Yeah…

"Everyone Has a Gift" is a jazzy-pop "listening song."  It is a celebration that God gives gifts to his people as he sees fit.  It also challenges the listener to decide what to do with the life that God gave them.

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: Jazzy pop, like Al Jarreau ['70s-'80s jazz-pop vocalist].  Funky drums and bass, with groovin' clean guitar and synth-piano.

IF YOU’RE TEACHING
- God the Creator
- Worship
- Christian living (forgetting God, then remembering him)
- God gives gifts, talents, abilities, and we are to "give them back" by using them for his glory

KEY LYRIC: "Everyone has a gift inside them.  Everyone has somethin’.  You use yours; I’ll use mine.  Jesus will be glorified as we open up our hearts to sing His praise…"

LITTLE KNOWN FACT: God used the "fade out" of this song to "speak" to Rob's neighbor, Alba.  She was struck by the fact that God didn't "skip" her when he was distributing "gifts" to his people.  And that she, in fact, could respond to God's invitation to be reconciled to him through the finished work of Christ on the cross.

"Jesus, I Know" (from the CD "You're a V.I.P. to G-O-D")
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2003 Rob Biagi Music/BMI

Jesus, I know you say that I’m special to you
Jesus, I know you say that my life is from you

So why do I turn away, and forget about You each day?
When it’s true: You felt the same things that I’m going through

Jesus, I know you say people mistreated you
Jesus, I know you say that you felt lonely, too

Oh why do I wait so long to ask You to help me be strong
When I know: You’re right beside me wherever I go

I know You’re real. You know how I feel.
And You can hear my heart

I know You cried. You know how I wish that I could see You.
But I can talk to You – I know

Jesus, I know you say You delight over me
Jesus, I know you say that You’ll take care of me

So now as I turn around I’ll stop looking for something I’ve found
And I believe I’ve got a Friend Who understands me – it’s Jesus

"Jesus, I Know" is a song of comfort that reminds us that Jesus [the God-man] experienced all of the same emotions and temptations that we sometimes experience.  It acknowledges:
- Christ as the Creator (John 1:1)
- That we are loved children of God
- Our forgetfulness and laziness as Christ-followers
- That Christ is with us, helping us, and advocating for us (1 Tim. 2:5)

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: very gentle acoustic guitar, percussion, and vocal track.

IF YOU’RE TEACHING
- (see above list)

KEY LYRIC: "Jesus, I know you say people mistreated you.  Jesus, I know you say that you felt lonely, too..."

LITTLE KNOWN FACT: The "oohs" in the middle section took Rob and his friend [and background vocalist] one hour and fifteen minutes to complete!

"P.U.S.H. (Pray Until Something Happens)" (from the CD "You're a V.I.P. to G-O-D")
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2003 Rob Biagi Music/BMI

Pray! Until something happens
Pray! Until you know the way
Pray! Until something happens
La – la – la – la – la, joyfully pray

What to do? – you should pray
Got no clue? – well then, pray
When your words go up, His power comes down
You’ll be rockin’ the streets of your town

Chorus

Rainy day? – you should pray
Can’t obey? – you oughta pray
When your words go up, His power comes down
You’ll be rockin’ the streets of your town

Chorus

“Happy Are We” (from the CD "You're a V.I.P. to G-O-D")
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2003 Rob Biagi Music/BMI

Happy are we whose God is the Lord!
Happy are we whose God is the Lord!
Happy are we whose God is the Lord!
Happy are we whose God is the Lord!!

Let me hear from all the kids; the kids that are for Jesus
Lovin’ Him, servin’ Him, talkin’ to Him every day
Oh, yeah. All of you; the kids that are for Jesus
Lovin’ Him, servin’ Him, talkin’ to Him every day
When you get together – what do you say?…We say

Happy are we whose God is the Lord!

Oh, no. All the ones; the ones that don’t know Jesus
No love, no serve, no talk – no way!
What to do for all the ones; the ones that don’t know Jesus
No love, no serve, no talk – no way!
If we get together – what should we say? We should say

Happy are we whose God is the Lord!
