having all kinds of fun in the family of God with our music
having all kinds of fun in the family of God with our music

sing – dance – worship (echo)
God says be joyful; always be joyful
sing – dance – worship
God says to praise Him – let’s celebrate Him

you’re on God’s mind – you’re one of a kind
it won’t sound the same without you
let’s go; let’s shine – our voices combine
sing with the angels above!

having all kinds of fun in the family of God with our music (woo hoo!)
having all kinds of fun in the family of God with our music (woo hoo!)

don’t just sit there (echo)
give God your worship, ‘cause He deserves it
don’t just sit there (echo)
God says to praise Him – let’s celebrate Him

you’re on God’s mind – you’re one of a kind
it won’t sound the same without you
let’s go; let’s shine – our voices combine
sing with the angels above!

having all kinds of fun in the family of God with our music (woo hoo hoo – oo – ow!)

it’s all good, we are worshipping as we should
it’s all right; we are worshipping day and night

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :

"All Kinds of Fun" is a funk/'80s-sounding track that encourages the listener "don't just sit there; give God your worship, 'cause He deserves it." The funky beat makes you want to dance, and there is lots of "call-and-answer" [leader sings, kids echo back] in the verses. As always, Kathleen Biagi's motions "lift" the song and make it super-fun and memorable

LESSON TOPIC/Keywords:
- Worship with music can be fun!
- God deserves our praise and worship
- Singing and dancing are ways to worship
- Rejoice, be joyful always
- We were created to worship God ["it won't sound the same without you..."]

KEY LYRIC: "Don’t just sit there. Give God your worship, ‘cause He deserves it. Don’t just sit there. God says to praise Him; let’s celebrate Him."

LITTLE KNOWN FACT: Parts of the motions on this song were designed to be like "The Temptations" [a cool '60s vocal group].

"Before I Go, I Stop" (from the CD "GET OUT THERE!")
words & music by Rob Biagi ©2005 Rob Biagi/BMI

Before I go – go – go, I stop
Before I go – go – go, I stop
Before I go – I stop
I don’t want my day to flop
Before I go – go – go, I stop

Before I run – run – run, I walk
Before I run – run – run, I walk
Before I run, I walk
I sit with the Lord and talk
Before I run – run – run, I walk

And then I go all out
Beyond any doubt
I want my life to SHOUT
“God is alive in me!” (repeat)

And then I go all out
Beyond any doubt
I want my life to SHOUT
“God is alive in me!” (repeat)

Before I split – split – split, I chill
Before I split – split – split, I chill
Before I split, I chill
I say, “Father – have your will.”
Before I go–go–go…I stop

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :

“Before I Go, I Stop” is a very fast, hard-rockin’ song about “going all out” for God.

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: 1990’s “alternative rock” sound. Heavy guitars, bashing drums, and a very fast tempo.

IF YOU’RE TEACHING:
- Prayer
- Devotion to God
- Courage

KEY LYRIC: "…I go all out. Beyond any doubt. I want my life to SHOUT, ‘God is alive in me!’”

LITTLE KNOWN FACT: Rob had a head cold when he recorded this vocal. Can you tell?

[Gospel Message]

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father
There is no shadow of turning with Thee
Thou changest not; Thy compassions they fail not
As Thou hast been, Thou forever wilt be

Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning, new mercies I see
All I have needed Your hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thine Own dear Presence to cheer and to guide
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow
Blessings all mine with ten thousand beside

Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning, new mercies I see
All I have needed Your hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me

[Natalie speaks]: “That’s good.”

[Juli speaks]: “That was great, Natalie.”

"Biagi Fam Jam" is a listening song that showcases “joy” in Rob’s “family” [the title of the CD is “Joy’n the Family”.] They do a “jingle” [like a radio commercial i.d.], then take turns singing parts of some of Rob’s biggest hit songs, finishing with a Gospel message and the classic hymn “Great is Thy Faithfulness”.

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: Various – pop vocal “jingle,” campfire/guitar sing-along, piano-and-vocal, improv./family vocal sing-along.

LESSON TOPIC/Keywords:
This song isn’t really appropriate for a Kids’ Church teaching application.

KEY LYRIC: "Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth…Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me."

LITTLE KNOWN FACT: A family argument kept the vocal recording session until the very end of production of this recording. Fortunately, everyone back “at peace with one another” and in a good mood [obviously] when the recording finally took place!

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :

"Books of the Bible Rap" is a sure-fire way to get kids [or adults!] to memorize the books of the Bible. It's basically the titles of all 66 books of the Old and New Testament sung/rapped to a homemade "beat" [with some extra words, phrases, humor, and sound effects added in for fun].

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: Quasi-rap/hip-hop, but without all the negatives typically found in those genres.

IF YOU’RE TEACHING:
- The Books of the Bible
- Anything at all that’s based on the Bible

OTHER USES:
- Any club, group, or organization that requires its participants to learn the Books of the Bible
- Competition between kid groups, or individuals [there are 2- and 3-year-olds who do quite well rapping along with this track!].

KEY LYRIC: Umm…the whole thing! It’s one-minute-and-twenty-eight seconds of the “Books of the Bible” in a rap style. See?

LITTLE KNOWN FACT: All of the noises [rhythm track, etc.] were made by Rob’s mouth and body: his tongue clicks, hand claps, and “swoosh” noises were all overdubbing [layered] on his recording computer and mixed together.

"Burger Meal" (from the CD "GET OUT THERE!")
words and music by ©2005 Rob Biagi/BMI

I’m in luck!  I got three bucks.
God says, “give – and I’ll bless you.”
Woohoo – score!  I got three more.
Now I can buy myself a burger, too.

I couldn’t spend it all on myself
It all comes from God and nobody else
I get my parents to go out with me, and I say,
I’d like 2 of meal number three!

Who’s gonna get this burger meal?
Who’s gonna get these fries?
Who’s gonna get that Jesus’ love is supersize?!
Who’s gonna get this burger meal?
Who’s gonna get this pop?
Who’s gonna get that Jesus’ love is non-stop?!”

So many items on the menu
So you pick out two of them and then you…
Say, “Here you go, sir,” or “here you go, ma’am.
I’m just representin’ Jesus – givin’ all I can, oh yeah.

I am kind, ‘cause I’ve filled my mind
With God’s Spirit and God’s word, and
It’s no biggie, to give a little money – (or food…)
I must live out all those things I’ve learned

I’m just representin’ Jesus – givin’ all I can.

[spoken outro]: You know, it doesn’t have to be a burger meal. You could give away nutritious food if you want to – or clothes or toys or games. You know – the “extra stuff” that you’ve got that you don’t really need. Or how about love? – a smile, a hug – respect and obedience? “Thank you, Mom…” “I’d be DELIGHTED to help you, Dad!” (read 1 Chronicles 29:11)

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :

"Burger Meal" is a bright, happy pop/rock song about giving.

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: Shuffle feel. Funk/rock stylings. Good guitar part with lots of background vocals.

IF YOU’RE TEACHING:
- Giving
- Evangelism
- Sacrifice

KEY LYRIC: "I couldn’t spend it all on myself. It all comes from God and nobody else."

LITTLE KNOWN FACT: In the recording studio, the band wanted to make this song more “dark” and “minor-key-sounding.” Rob insisted, “It’s a song about a Happy Meal. It has to be happy-sounding!”

"Carry the Light" is a mid-tempo, sing-along chorus about "shining the light of Christ" to a dark world.  It's a simple song about "letting Christ live in you."  It includes a grunt, which boys and men [in particular] love!  Even if the boys won't sing and dance - they'll usually grunt!  This song works great at live concerts, when Rob often brings Dads up from the audience with their kids to do the motions and grunt.

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: Acoustic band pop (acoustic guitar, drums, electric bass, electric guitar), campfire-rock, pop.

IF YOU'RE TEACHING:
- Representing Jesus Christ
- Evangelism
- Obedience
- Joy
- Purity

KEY LYRIC: "ungh!" [the grunt part]

LITTLE KNOWN FACT: God used this song [and three years' time] to turn some "bored 6th grade boys" into "9th graders who lead Kids' Worship"!  Their KidMin Director didn't scold them for not singing and dancing - she just encouraged them to "keep grunting," and - in three years' time - they became High School freshmen who loved to sing, dance, and worship the One True God [and lead younger children to learn to do the same]!

“Church Friends Are the Best” (from the CD "Grown-Up Kid")
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2012 Rob Biagi Music/BMI

Each day I gotta say thanks to Him
Because He has given me some real good friends
I’ve got school friends and I like them – we have fun
And my church friends are the best friends – my favorite ones!

I can’t wait to be with my friends again
To be with my friends again
Church friends are the best – ah yes!
I can’t wait to be with my friends again
Our worship will never end
Church friends are the best!

I make new friends now and then, but it’s not the same
‘Cause my church friends are gonna spend forever praising God’s name!

I can’t wait to be with my friends again
To be with my friends again
Church friends are the best – ah yes!
I can’t wait to be with my friends again
Our worship will never end
Church friends are the best

Are you gonna be there?
Are you gonna be there?
I’ll be lookin’ for you!
Are you gonna be there?
Are you gonna be there?
I’ll be lookin’ for you!

I can’t wait to be with my friends again
To be with my friends again
Church friends are the best – ah yes!
I can’t wait to be with my friends again
Our worship will never end
Church friends are the best

"Church Friends are the Best" is a jazzy doo-wop song about the joy of having friends at church.

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: upbeat drums & bass guitar with happy guitar, piano, and vocals.  Very happy-sounding.

KEY LYRIC: “I can’t wait to be with my friends again. Church friends are the best!”

USE IT:
- if you're teaching about unity, love, fellowship, or friendship
- any time you want the kids "unified"

“Cool Guys, Groovy Girls” (from the CD "GET OUT THERE!")
words and music by Rob Biagi & Chris Barron ©2005 Rob Biagi/BMI, homebake music/BMI

Even the cool guys - even the groovy girls need Jesus
Even the cool guys - even the groovy girls can’t make it on their own to their eternal home
It’s true that in the end – you need a famous Friend, so
Even the cool guys - even the groovy girls need Jesus!

If you’re cool, you’re cool – and that’s cool – but don’t be a fool, because
coolness on the earth actually is not worth anything to the King

God gave us the answer – one day, eventually
We’ll stand before His glory
And here is the Guarantee:

Even the cool guys - even the groovy girls need Jesus
Even the cool guys - even the groovy girls can’t make it on their own to their eternal home
It’s true that in the end – you need a famous Friend, so
Even the cool guys - even the groovy girls need Jesus!

If you’re popular, you’re popular – spectacular – but don’t be a fool, thinkin’
That you’ve got “the stuff,” and that you’re good enough to earn your way
There ain’t no way, ‘cause

God gave us the answer – God gave us the facts
It’s not how many “homies” have “got your back”

Even the cool guys - even the groovy girls need Jesus
Even the cool guys - even the groovy girls can’t make it on their own to their eternal home
It’s true that in the end – you need a famous Friend, so
Even the cool guys - even the groovy girls need Jesus!

They need a Savior, a Forgiver, a Redeemer

It’s true that in the end – you need a famous Friend, so
Even the cool guys - even the groovy girls…need Jesus!

“Cool Guys, Groovy Girls” is a funky, Christian “cup of cold water to the face” of pop culture.

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: ‘70s funk. Steady drum beat, cool bass line. Funky guitars, killer vocal stacks.

IF YOU’RE TEACHING:
- Obedience to Christ
- Salvation
- Pop culture’s foolishness
- Jesus the Exclusive Savior

KEY LYRIC: "God gave us the answer – one day, eventually – we’ll stand before his glory and here is the Guarantee: Even the cool guys, even the groovy girls need Jesus…"

LITTLE KNOWN FACT: Rob did all of the background vocals himself by overdubbing his voice 12 times.

"Everyone Has a Gift" (from the CD "You're a V.I.P. to G-O-D")
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2003 Rob Biagi Music/BMI

God does not make mistakes – He did good when he made you
Yeah – yeah. He made you good.
So you better ask yourself – what am I supposed to be
With the one and only life God gave me?

Some of us can sing. Some of us can dance.
All of us can love when we get the chance!

Everyone has a gift inside them
Everyone has somethin’
You use yours; I’ll use mine
Jesus will be glorified as we
Open up our hearts to sing His praise…yeah…

Everybody messes up. We forget to include You
Yes we do. We are busy!
But when we finally make it through
We look back and we see You guided us through everything, You showed us the way

Some of us can sing
Some of us can dance
All of us can love; we’re gonna get the chance right now!

Everyone has a gift inside them
Everyone has somethin’
You use yours; I’ll use mine
Jesus will be glorified as we
Open up our hearts to praise…yeah…

God put something deep in your heart – that’s right
He didn’t skip you; He didn’t forget about you
So come alive! Learn to fly! Yeah…

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :

"Everyone Has a Gift" is a jazzy-pop "listening song."  It is a celebration that God gives gifts to his people as he sees fit.  It also challenges the listener to decide what to do with the life that God gave them.

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: Jazzy pop, like Al Jarreau ['70s-'80s jazz-pop vocalist].  Funky drums and bass, with groovin' clean guitar and synth-piano.

IF YOU’RE TEACHING
- God the Creator
- Worship
- Christian living (forgetting God, then remembering him)
- God gives gifts, talents, abilities, and we are to "give them back" by using them for his glory

KEY LYRIC: "Everyone has a gift inside them.  Everyone has somethin’.  You use yours; I’ll use mine.  Jesus will be glorified as we open up our hearts to sing His praise…"

LITTLE KNOWN FACT: God used the "fade out" of this song to "speak" to Rob's neighbor, Alba.  She was struck by the fact that God didn't "skip" her when he was distributing "gifts" to his people.  And that she, in fact, could respond to God's invitation to be reconciled to him through the finished work of Christ on the cross.

"Get Out There!" (from the CD "GET OUT THERE!")
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2005 Rob Biagi/BMI

get out there!

most people stay in the boat
afraid of the wind and the crashing sea
but Jesus knows how to keep you afloat
what kind of Christian do you want to be?

God will not mislead
live your faith high speed
get out there…

get out there!

God can see you trying to hide
so ‘shine your glory’ and shake things up!
Jesus will give you a rocket-blast ride
if you agree to get “fired up”!

God will not mislead
live your faith high speed
get out there…

get out there!

ready, set: get out there!

God says, “you’ve got what it takes!”
and He’ll help you fight off the enemy
God may ask you to ‘walk on a lake’
or practice wild Christianity

God will not mislead
live your faith high speed
get out there…

get out there!

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :

“GET OUT THERE!” is a hard rockin’ encouragement go “live a bold, uncompromising life for Christ.”

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: ‘70s rock. Wild guitar flourishes, “somewhat-screaming” vocals, pounding drums.

IF YOU’RE TEACHING:
- Representing Jesus [in a James 1:22 kind of way]
- Living your faith
-

KEY LYRIC: " most people stay in the boat, afraid of the wind and the crashing sea. Jesus knows how to keep you afloat. What kind of Christian do you want to be? God will not mislead. Live your faith high speed. GET OUT THERE!”

LITTLE KNOWN FACT: Rob now wishes he hadn’t produced this song to sound like [vulgar, worldly rock band] Van Halen.

“Get Ready for the Bumps” (from the CD "Joy'n the Family")
words and music by Rob Biagi and (daughter) Juli Biagi ©2010 Rob Biagi/BMI, ©2010 Juli Buli Songs

cruisin’ down the road and feeling good about my life when,
whoop! what was that? the doctors’ news is bad?
you’re sick? no way! we’ve got to stop and pray, ‘cause
that’s what Christians do at every moment of the day – so!

get ready for the bumps
get ready for ‘em bump, bump!
get ready for the bumps in life
get ready for the bumps
get ready for ‘em bump, bump!
get ready and don’t be surprised
God is on your side

back out on the road and feeling good about my life when,
ungh! what was that? my best friend’s mom and dad?
an argument? Okay – we’ve got to stop and pray, ‘cause
that’s what Christians do at every moment of the day

get ready for the bumps
get ready for ‘em bump, bump!
get ready for the bumps in life
get ready for the bumps
get ready for ‘em bump, bump!
get ready and don’t be surprised
God is on your side when the bumps come

and they will, you know
Christ told us so in the Scriptures, He said:
“…don’t be surprised, just fix our eyes on Me and you will see…

you’ll be ready for the bumps
ready for the bumps
ready for the bumps in life!”
get ready for the bumps
get ready for ‘em bump, bump!
get ready and don’t be surprised
God is on your side when the bumps come

get ready
get ready
read your Bible, and pray
get ready

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :

"Get Ready for the Bumps" is an honest way of looking at the “bumps” [or troubles] in life. God allows troubles [and sometimes causes them]. Christ tells us to not be “surprised” when troubles come, and promises that the Holy Spirit will help us through them and strengthen us to get back out there to represent Christ.

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: mid-tempo rock/pop with funky guitars and a sing-along vocal [in the kids’ key!]. This one works great in Kids’ Church, and [as always] Kathleen Biagi’s motions “lift” the song and get the kids pumpin’ their fists and jumping to the beat.

IF YOU’RE TEACHING:
- Dealing with troubles
- Perseverance
- Faith
- Obedience
- The Armor of God

words & music by Rob Biagi ©2012 Rob Biagi/BMI

God is holy; He is just
He created all things
He is love

God is holy; He is just
He created all things
He is love

You’re so big; I’m small
I bring nothing at all
Still I want You to say, “Well done.”

You’re so big; I’m small
I bring nothing at all to the perfect and holy One…
…but still I come…
I come…

God is holy; He is just
He created all things
He is love

He is love

"God is Workin’ On Me"  (from the CD "Joy'n the Family")
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2010 Rob Biagi/BMI

the best of me is coming out today
when i decide to let God have his way
the best of me is coming out right here
when God directs and i don’t interfere

today’s been unbelievable; we’re blessed and havin’ fun
the future’s inconceivable; the best is yet to come

God is workin’ on me – i know
God is workin’ on me – i know
i’m undergoing transformation. call me a “new creation”!
God is workin’ on me – i know!

the best of me is coming out today
when i decide to let God have his way
the best of me is coming out right here

“Great King Jesus” (from the CD "Grown-Up Kid")
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2012

I’ve been sent here by the Great King Himself
You’ve been lied to by the enemy – he tells lies, nothing else!
He says you can be king of your own world

Satan wants to take you down
Every one of you has to choose…to which one will you bow?

Whoa! Yeah! Walkin’ with the Great King Jesus
Livin’! Rockin’! Learning how to obey
Whoa! Yeah! Walkin’ with the Great King Jesus
Livin’! Rockin’! Just like the book of James

I’ve been told the Truth and now I must obey
And this world all around me is crazy!
But it’s not too late to get back turned around – remember:

Satan wants to take you down
Every one of you has to choose…to which one will you bow?

Whoa! Yeah! Walkin’ with the Great King Jesus
Livin’! Rockin’! Learning how to obey
Whoa! Yeah! Walkin’ with the Great King Jesus
Livin’! Rockin’! Just like the book of James

“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” – James 1:22

Whoa! Yeah! Walkin’ with the Great King Jesus
Livin’! Rockin’! Learning how to obey
Whoa! Yeah! Walkin’ with the Great King Jesus
Livin’! Rockin’! Just like the book of James

i bring me to You – like You ask me to
and i’m quiet
i bring me to You – like You ask me to

believing everything you’ve promised You’ll do
believing everything i’ve hoped for is true

Hallelujah – thank You
Hallelujah – thank You

i bring me to You – when i don’t know what else to do
keep me quiet
i bring me to You – when i don’t know what else to do
keep me quiet

"HTY" is a quiet, gentle song of thanksgiving and worship. It is Rob and [his daughter] Natalie's "Leukemia Victory Song." On December 4, 2009, Natalie got her final chemotherapy treatment for A.L.L. Leukemia [see www.nataliebiagi.com for the story]. On that same day, Rob was told he is "in remission" from C.M.L. Leukemia. A great day! - and yet another reason to thank the One True God. He certainly doesn't always heal or resolve our problems the way we pray for, but He is able to!

words and music by Rob Biagi ©2003 Rob Biagi Music/BMI

Happy are we whose God is the Lord!
Happy are we whose God is the Lord!
Happy are we whose God is the Lord!
Happy are we whose God is the Lord!!

Let me hear from all the kids; the kids that are for Jesus
Lovin’ Him, servin’ Him, talkin’ to Him every day
Oh, yeah. All of you; the kids that are for Jesus
Lovin’ Him, servin’ Him, talkin’ to Him every day
When you get together – what do you say?…We say

Happy are we whose God is the Lord!

Oh, no. All the ones; the ones that don’t know Jesus
No love, no serve, no talk – no way!
What to do for all the ones; the ones that don’t know Jesus
No love, no serve, no talk – no way!
If we get together – what should we say? We should say

Happy are we whose God is the Lord!

“I Am Just Gonna Praise You” (from the CD "You're a V.I.P. to G-O-D")
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2003 Rob Biagi Music/BMI

I am just gonna praise You
That’s what I was made to do
I am just gonna sing out loud
And send some love back up to You!

When you first say, “I believe!”
There’s lots of things that you should do:
Love God, love people and pray to name a few
Let’s not make it complicated;
Let’s not think ‘til we turn blue

Just help me, Jesus – help me now to do what I should do

I am just gonna praise You
That’s what I was made to do
I am just gonna sing out loud
And send some love back up to You!

As you get older things seem fine
But everybody wants your mind
School and sports and church and family and your PS2
God is busy waiting for you;
He can’t wait to hear your voice

Put the Game Boy down, wipe that frown
Turn your day around

Chorus

You say You will fight for me
That You take great delight in me
So I will jump and hang on, Jesus
I will not let You go!

"I Don’t Want to Watch Things" (from the CD "GET OUT THERE!")
words and music by ©2005 Rob Biagi/BMI

Jesus - I don’t want to watch things, I want to do things with You
I don’t want to watch things, I want to do things with You

Not like the multitudes who ate the food
I want to be a kid who passes out the food (one for you, one for you…)
Not like the multitudes who waved to You
I want to be a kid who walks with You!

I don’t want to watch things, I want to do things with You
I don’t want to watch things, I want to do things with You

Not like the people who forget You
I want to be a kid who senses you everywhere
Not like the people who make you cry
I want to be a kid who lifts your Spirit high…Oh…

I don’t want to watch things, I want to do things with You
I don’t want to watch things, I want to do things with You
Do things with You
Do things with You

words and music by Rob Biagi ©2003 Rob Biagi Music/BMI

I’m feeling good today – I go to Jesus
‘Cause He knows what it’s like to celebrate with his friends

I feel so good today – I go to Jesus
‘Cause He knows what it’s like to be walking right along with the Father

I’m going straight to the top (Monday-Tuesday)
Where miracles don’t stop (Wednesday-Thursday)
Straight to the top (Friday-Saturday)
Sunday – fun day, LET’S GO!

I’m feeling bad today – I “crawl“ to Jesus
‘Cause he knows what it’s like to need a lift from the Father
I need a friend today – I go to Jesus
‘Cause He knows what it’s like to be teased and hurt and made fun of – yes He does

I’m going straight to the top (Monday-Tuesday)
Where miracles don’t stop (Wednesday-Thursday)
Straight to the top (Friday-Saturday)
Sunday – fun day, LET’S GO!

“(I Wish) A Blessing On You” (from the CD "Joy'n the Family")
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2010 Rob Biagi/BMI

everyone i see will get a smile from me today
and everywhere i go – people will see me and know (they’ll say…)
wow! that kid is alive! – there’s some kind of joy in their eyes
will they know what it is? i can offer them this, “hey – God bless you in your life.”

i wish a blessing on you, and on you, and on you…i do
i wish a blessing on you, and on you, and on you…it’s true!

oh Lord let everything i do bring glory and joy to You today
help everyone i meet to see You alive in me, oh yeah
away i fly – into a world that needs Light
they don’t know Jesus lives – that He was and He is the way, the truth, the life

i wish a blessing on you, and on you, and on you…i do!
i wish a blessing on you, and on you, and on you…it’s true!

take it all in – God is real, He’s close by, if you only knew
take it all in – feel His peace, feel His love washing over you…

i wish a blessing on you and on you, and on you

i wish a blessing on you, and on you, and on you…i do
i wish you joy in your family and peace in your home
i wish a blessing on you, and on you, and on you…it’s true!
for God is good – only good, and his ways are higher

"I Won’t Turn My Back on You" (from the CD "GET OUT THERE!")
words and music by ©2005 Rob Biagi/BMI

I won’t turn my back on You
I won’t turn my back on You
Whatever we do – whatever life takes us through
I won’t turn my back on You

God answers prayers three ways:
“Yes,” “No,” or “not today”
God says, “Do you trust Me all the way!”
God answers prayers three ways:
“Yes,” “No,” or “not today”
God says, “Hey – trust Me all the way!”

God says, “Approach Me with courage, not fear.”
He know my true needs
No matter what, I’m staying right here!

I won’t turn my back on You
I won’t turn my back on You
Whatever we do – whatever life takes us through
I won’t turn my back on You

God answers prayers three ways:
“Yes,” “No,” or “not today”
God says, “Do you trust Me all the way!”

No matter what, I’m staying right here!

I won’t turn my back on You
I won’t turn my back on You
Whatever we do – whatever life takes us through

Whatever we do – whatever life takes us through
I won’t turn my back on You

"I’m Followin’ Jesus" (from the CD "GET OUT THERE!")
words and music by ©2005 Rob Biagi/BMI

On the road of life
There are two ways to go:
You can choose Abundant Life, or say,
“Whatever, dude – We’ll see how it goes…”

Now I don’t know about you
I just know about me
And I know what to do
If I wanna be free!

I’m followin’ Jesus – Jesus
I’m followin’ Jesus – Jesus

Down the road we go – it’s really rather odd
We can play it safe and slow – or fly through life with God!

I don’t know about you
And everyone’s goin’ that way
I just wanna be free
So I’m gonna walk by faith!

I’m followin’ Jesus – Jesus
I’m followin’ Jesus – Jesus!

Do you know – do you know Whose you are?
If you did – you’d say – “I won’t eat that today!”,
‘Cause this bod – was ‘creatod’ – to glorify God!” [laughs]

Whose kid are you? I’m God’s kid!
Whose kid are you? I’m God’s spectacular kid!

We’re grateful for the sacrifice of Christ
In all we do our hearts are true and free
We worship God, we’re joyful as can be

I’m with everybody singing ‘Jesus Loves Me’
Wishing that the whole wide world would sing it
I’m with everybody singing ‘Jesus Loves Me’
Wishing that the whole wide world was here

Our God is good; it’s understood – all right
He lets us know the narrow road is Christ
We love His word, we’re glad we heard the truth
We live it out, without a doubt, we do - what about you?

I’m with everyone having big, big fun
Wishing that the world loved God…

Is Everybody Ready to Go?” (from the CD "Grown-Up Kid")
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2012 Rob Biagi (BMI)

There’s nothing wrong with the sound of children’s voices shouting
If they’re shouting out to the One who leads the way – Jesus!
There’s nothing wrong if you see some children dancing, jumping
If they’re dancing for the only God who saves

So who’s coming with us? Are you coming with us?!

Is everybody ready to go? Let’s hit the trail and follow
the God who made us; He’s leading the way
Is everybody ready to go? Let’s hit the trail and follow
Today and tomorrow – and every day – for life!

There is no joy like the joy of knowing Jesus – the Savior
He gives love the world can never take away – no way!
There is no place like the place where we all gather – together
We are singing, dancing, and lifting up our praise!

So who’s coming with us? Are you coming with us?!

Is everybody ready to go? Let’s hit the trail and follow
the God who made us; He’s leading the way
Is everybody ready to go? Let’s hit the trail and follow
Today and tomorrow – and every day – for life!

I’ll follow Christ all my life - that’s what I pray for
I was bought with a price – the blood of Christ – and I’m so, so grateful

Is everybody ready to go? Let’s hit the trail and follow
the God who made us; He’s leading the way
Is everybody ready to go? Let’s hit the trail and follow
Today and tomorrow – and every day – for life!

We want to follow Jesus
Everywhere he leads us!

Jesus Always Wins” (from the album, “Grown-Up Kid”)
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2012 Rob Biagi Music/BMI

Every kind of team needs a leader
A strong one who knows the game
If you call yourself a believer - Christ is his name

If you want to win when it really counts
You’ve got to choose your side
Don’t waste your time with a man-made faith - Christ be glorified!

The King of Kings is already crowned
The enemy is goin’ down

Jesus I want to play on your team ‘cause you always win
Jesus I want to stay by your side ‘cause you’ve always been
You’re the ever-existing God over everything, so what else could I do but trust in You?

"Jesus, I Know" (from the CD "You're a V.I.P. to G-O-D")
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2003 Rob Biagi Music/BMI

Jesus, I know you say that I’m special to you
Jesus, I know you say that my life is from you

So why do I turn away, and forget about You each day?
When it’s true: You felt the same things that I’m going through

Jesus, I know you say people mistreated you
Jesus, I know you say that you felt lonely, too

Oh why do I wait so long to ask You to help me be strong
When I know: You’re right beside me wherever I go

I know You’re real. You know how I feel.
And You can hear my heart

I know You cried. You know how I wish that I could see You.
But I can talk to You – I know

Jesus, I know you say You delight over me
Jesus, I know you say that You’ll take care of me

So now as I turn around I’ll stop looking for something I’ve found
And I believe I’ve got a Friend Who understands me – it’s Jesus

"Jesus, I Know" is a song of comfort that reminds us that Jesus [the God-man] experienced all of the same emotions and temptations that we sometimes experience.  It acknowledges:
- Christ as the Creator (John 1:1)
- That we are loved children of God
- Our forgetfulness and laziness as Christ-followers
- That Christ is with us, helping us, and advocating for us (1 Tim. 2:5)

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: very gentle acoustic guitar, percussion, and vocal track.

“Jesus the Soccer Star?” (from the CD "You're a V.I.P. to G-O-D")
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2003 Rob Biagi Music/BMI

the Bible says that Jesus wants to be with me
the Bible says He cares when I am blue
the Bible says that Jesus was a joyful human man
so how would He live with me and you?
would…He…be…

Jesus the soccer star? - would He play with us?
Jesus the music star? - or would He drive the bus?
Jesus the big, tough guy - or would He treat my brother cool?
or would He say, “I just came here – to love you!”?
to love you-oo-oo, yeah

the Bible says that Jesus wants to be with me
the Bible says He cares when i am blue – boo hoo!

the Bible says that Jesus was a joyful human man
so how would He live with me and you?
would…He…be…

Jesus the soccer star? - would He play with us?
Jesus the music star? - or would He drive the bus?
Jesus the big, tough guy - or would He treat my brother cool?
or would He say, “I just came here – to love you!”?

the Bible says that Jesus wants to be with me - that’s right…
the Bible says He cares when i am blue – boo-oo hoo-hoo!

the Bible says that Jesus was a joyful human man
so how would He live with me and you?
would…He…be…

Jesus the soccer star? - would He play with us?

"Jesus the Soccer Star?" is arguably Rob's biggest hit song.  It tells the historical truth that Jesus Christ [God the Son] left his rightful place in heaven to solve the sin problem of mankind [every person who repents of their sin and trusts in Christ's substitutionary life, death on the cross, burial, and resurrection from the dead.]  Plus, it gives a fun twist: if we were alive back in the time of Christ's earthly ministry and we had a game of soccer going, would Jesus want to join in the game?

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: Acoustic band pop, rock-pop, Nashville/country.

IF YOU'RE TEACHING:
- Jesus left heaven to be with people
- Jesus cares about every situation life brings us
- What is the nature of God? [answer: God is everything, so he experienced everything: sadness, joy, laughter, play]

KEY LYRIC: "The Bible says that Jesus wants to be with me.  The Bible says He cares when I am blue - boo hoo.  The Bible says that Jesus was a joyful human [God-] man.  So how would He live with me and you...?"

LITTLE KNOWN FACT: The "would He drive the bus?" line actually questions whether Jesus would drive the tour bus for "the band," not a school bus, as is commonly thought.

“Loud House” (from the CD "Grown-Up Kid)
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2012 Rob Biagi Music/BMI

It’s loud in the living room when the family worships together
The songs make me jump and groove and I bet we'll sing them forever

Ooh - we love the way the guitar plays
Ooh - we love to hear the children praise

Our house is a loud house, can’tcha see?
Our house is the place kids wish to be
It’s full of surprises, praise rises from me!

There's never a lousy day when the kids get loud all together
The songs make me smile all day and I bet we’ll sing them forever

Ooh – God loves to hear the cymbals ring
Ooh – God love to hear his people sing – so come on!

Our house is a loud house, can’tcha see?
Our house is the place kids wish to be
It’s full of surprises, praise rises from me!

Sometimes it’s quiet when the Story’s being told
‘Cause we know when it’s appropriate to “shh…”
Other times it’s noisy when the music starts to play
And our love for Jesus carries us away

God’s house is a loud house, can’tcha see?
God’s house is the place kids wish to be
It’s full of surprises, praise rises from me!

God’s house is loud house, can’tcha see?
God’s house is the place kids wish to be.
It’s full of surprises, praise rises from me!

It’s a loud, loud house – a house full of praise and worship!

words and music by Rob Biagi ©2012 Rob Biagi Music/BMI

Every day when I arise
I’ll open up my eyes and say, “Good morning to you, God!”
And every moment I’ll remember all the things you’ve done for me
and then I’ll smile and rejoice!

And I’ll thank You when I’m happy
And I’ll seek You when I’m sad
But most of all I’ll trust You always hear me
You’re always near to me – my God

“On Your Way to Heaven” (from the CD "You're a V.I.P. to G-O-D")
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2003 Rob Biagi Music/BMI

Jesus is the way to heaven, don’t you see?
Jesus is the way to heaven, do you believe?
just say, “yeah, yeah. i will trust in Jesus”
then you’re on your way to heaven, oh yeah

Jesus is the way to heaven, don’t you see?
i read Jesus is the way to heaven, do you believe?
then say, “yeah, yeah. i will follow Jesus”
and you’re on your way to heaven, oh yeah
oh yeah!

don’t you want to know how Jesus really looks?
don’t you want to tell Paul, “thanks for all your books?”
don’t you want to hang with Moses, David, and John the Baptist, too?
there is only one Place where that’s what you’ll get to do!

if you want to go to heaven, what say you?
if you want to go to heaven – this is what you do
you say, “yeah, yeah. i give my life to Jesus”
and you’re on your way to heaven, oh yeah

don’t you want to surf and skate and never fall?
don’t you want to be made “perfect” after all?
don’t you want to see the face of God smiling all day through?
there is only one Place where that’s what you’ll get to do

now that you are going to heaven, please be kind
i said now that you are going to heaven, don’t leave your friends behind
tell them, “yeah, yeah. give your life to Jesus
and you’re on your way to heaven, oh yeah!”

“(People of God) Love Each Other” (from the CD "Grown-Up Kid")
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2012 Rob Biagi Music/BMI

There’s power in the words you say
Let’s build it up, build it up, build each other up
Give somebody else their way, let’s
Build it up, build it up, build each other up

Sometimes you know life hurts
God says, “No divisions in My church.” No way!

The people of God should love each other
Give someone else a handshake
The people of God should love each other
For goodness’ sake – it’s a piece of cake – come on!

Be joyful as you dance and sway
Let’s build it up, build it up, build each other up
Smile and make somebody’s day
Build it up, build it up, build each other up –

Sometimes you know life hurts
God says, “No divisions in My church.” No way!

The people of God should love each other
Give someone else a handshake
The people of God should love each other
For goodness’ sake – it’s a piece of cake – come on!

"Scoot!" (from the CD "Joy'n the Family")
God is close, so “scoot” over and make room for him in your life
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2010 Rob Biagi/BMI

(teacher: “good morning, class!”)
if you’re all upset just sitting at your desk, well
i’ve got this for you – God is sittin’ there with you! (teacher: “it’s a spelling test!”)
if you’re playing sports, well, you’ve got Fan support, ‘cause
i’ve got this for you – God is playin’ there with you!

people need to know God is near
people need to know God’s not far
He is right where you are! – so …

scoot!

if you’re doing chores and wondering, “why, what for?” well
i’ve got this for you – God is “chore-ing” there with you!
(while you’re workin’)

people need to know God is near
people need to know God’s not far
He is right where you are! – so …

scoot! (on the playground)
scoot! (in your business)
scoot! (with the laundry)
scoot! – (absolutely everywhere…)

never never wait too long to say, “God i know you’re here
with your mighty right hand holding me up.”
never never wait too long to say, “God i have no fear
i’m not alone when a curveball’s thrown.” (“STRIKE TWO!”)

if you’re out for soup, then add one to your group, ‘cause
i’ve got this for you – God is dining there with you! (in your family)

people need to know God is near
people need to know God’s not far
He is right where you are! – so …

scoot!

LESSON TOPIC/Keywords:
- God is with you (Zephaniah 3:17)
- Do everything to the glory of God (Colossians 3:23)
- Acknowledge God's presence all around you - throughout the day
- Prayer
- Be bold, because God is for you!

KEY LYRIC: "If you're out for soup then add one to your group...God is dining there with you, in your family. People need to know God is near. People need to know God's not far; He is right where you are - so scoot!"

LITTLE KNOWN FACT: Rob asked one of his daughter Juli's teachers to do the "teacher voiceover" at the beginning - but she couldn't do it - so Rob's voice appears as the "Teacher" on the final master.

found a lot of ways to disagree, but
one thing made us both happy
we couldn’t wait ‘til half-past four when
daddy’d come walkin’ through that door and
he’d say, “hey – who wants to get soaked?!

turn the hose on, get in the pool
i came home early just to be with you and do the things you do.”

he was a six-foot man
in a four-foot pool
one foot deep, four feet wide
daddy and me – side by side – oo – hoo – hoo!

you know God’s a Father, too
and He’s got about a zillion things to do, but
He’s still watchin’ after you!
He is holy, just and true
But we are sinners through and through
so Christ says, “Hey – who wants to get ‘soaked’”?

He says, “turn the hose on, get in the pool
I came from heaven to be with you and do a big rescue

I’ll be your six-foot Man
in your four-foot ‘pool’.
My love’s deep and My love’s wide
you and Me – side by side – oo – hoo – hoo!”

[kids shout: “go on, fella!”] solo section

turn the hose on, get in the pool
He came from heaven to be with you and do a big rescue

He’ll be your Six-Foot Man
in your four-foot pool.
His love’s deep and His love’s wide
you and He – side by side – oo – hoo – hoo!
He’ll be your Six-Foot Man
in your four-foot pool.
His love’s deep and His love’s wide
you and He – side by side – oo – hoo – hoo!

"Six-Foot Man (in a Four-Foot Pool)" is an autobiographical song about Rob’s and his brother’s relationship with their Dad. It tells of how their Dad would come home from work and join them in their boyhood games [and their plastic inflatable swimming pool]. It’s good to think of God this way – that he wants us to enjoy a close relationship with him, and that Christ was willing to leave heaven to become the “God-man” to rescue us from the punishment our sins deserve.

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: Country/pop – lots of slide guitar, acoustic guitar, and vocal harmonies. A very big sing-along chorus.

IF YOU’RE TEACHING:
- Christ coming to earth to rescue us
- The answer to the sin problem
- Sacrifice
- The power of effective/involved parenting

KEY LYRIC: “I came from heaven to be with you and do a big rescue…”

LITTLE KNOWN FACTS: Rob’s Dad plays the harmonica solo in the middle section, and his “big brother Mike” does most of the background vocals.

"Skip Sleepin’ In" (from the CD "You're a V.I.P. to G-O-D")
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2003 Rob Biagi/BMI

I’m gonna skip sleepin’ in and go to church
I’m gonna skip sleepin’ in and go to church
I’m gonna dance all around
Mom & Dad don’t go slow now
‘Cause I skipped sleepin’ in; I’m goin’ to church!

I’m gonna hop outta bed and fill my head
I’m gonna hop outta bed and fill my head
I don’t care if I’ve got “bed-head”
I heard what the Teacher said,
“You gotta hop outta bed and fill your head with the Word of God!”

I gotta pray…’cause God loves my voice
I gotta make…a joyful noise!
I’m gonna praise from my gut
Because you know what?
I’m gonna skip sleepin’ in and go to church!

I’m gonna jump at the chance to tell my friends
I’m gonna jump at the chance to tell my friends
“By the time Kids’ Church is through
You’ll get a chance to be made new
If you skip sleepin’ in and come to church.”

You gotta pray…’cause God loves your voice
You gotta make…a joyful noise!
You oughta praise from your gut
Because I tell you what -
You oughta skip sleepin’ in and go to church

I’m gonna skip sleepin’ in and go to church (sleepy)

I’m gonna skip sleepin’ in and go to church!

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :

"Skip Sleepin' In" is from the kids'-eye view.  "The kid" doesn't want to miss Kids' Church [and worship/music time in particular], so - after thinking about all the fun and educational components of Sunday morning, "the kid" turns to waking up his parents and asking them to "not go slow."  As always, the motions "lift" this song.  The church kids get a chance to skip, jump, hop, and holler out.

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: a 60s funk [James Brown]-sounding song with funky beats, a great bass guitar line, swirling organ, and some tasty [Aretha Franklin wannabe] background vocal stabs.

IF YOU’RE TEACHING
- The importance of church [Kids' Church in particular]
- The power of learning the Bible
- Family Togetherness/Dynamics
- Evangelism
- Salvation/The Gospel of Repentance and Faith in Christ

KEY LYRIC: "I don’t care if I’ve got 'bed-head'. I heard what the Teacher said,  'You gotta hop outta bed and fill your head with the Word of God!'"

LITTLE KNOWN FACT: Rob was inspired to write this by Parker W., a kid at his church. Parker didn't want to miss Kids' Worship, which started promptly at 9am every Sunday. He didn't want his parents to go slow and "make him miss" the start of music time, so he learned to make coffee for his parents.

"Sometimes I Sing" (from the CD "GET OUT THERE!")
words and music by ©2005 Rob Biagi/BMI

Sometimes I sing songs of joy
When I think about what you have done
And the way that you are blessing me
Sometimes I sing songs of joy
When everything makes sense, and life is full of peace

But that’s not all the time; that’s not every day
Happiness does not last, so I must pray, and say

Thank you Lord, in everything
You allow just what I need
Thank you Lord, in everything
And all I want to do is bring some joy to You, my Savior

Sometimes I cry tears of pain
When everything seems hopeless
And I feel you have gone away
Sometimes I cry tears of pain
When all my sin and burden take me away

But that’s not all the time; that’s not every day
Pain and sorrow do not last, so I will pray

Thank you Lord, in everything
You allow just what I need
Thank you Lord, in everything
And all I want to do is bring some joy to You, my Savior

And when I celebrate, when life feels great, yeah!
You rejoice and sing with me
And when I cry like the tears won’t end
You take me under your wing – and I feel safe again…

Sometimes I sing songs of joy
When I think about what you have done
And the way that you are blessing me
Sometimes I sing songs of joy
When everything makes sense, and life is full of peace – But that’s not
all the time; that’s not every day…but one day it will be!

IF YOU’RE TEACHING:
- The ups and downs of life
- God’s faithfulness

KEY LYRIC: " when I celebrate, when life feels great, yeah! You rejoice and sing with me
And when I cry like the tears won’t end, You take me under your wing – and I feel safe again."

“Sorry Mom, I Was Wrong” (from the CD "Joy'n the Family")
silly song about a kid apologizing to his parents
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2010 Rob Biagi /BMI

sorry mom – i was wrong and you were right – all along
and now all that i want to do
is love and honor and obey you – my Mom

mom? (she fainted!) i guess i’ll have to talk to dad instead

i’m sorry Dad – i’m ashamed. and you are right – i’m to blame
now all that i want to do
is love and honor and obey you – my dad

to show you that my behavior’s better
i just wrote grandma’s thank you letter…see? pretty good, huh?

mom and dad – you’re the boss
and you were right – so i flossed
and now all that you’ll see me do
is love and honor and obey you – my parents – i love my parents!

i’m sorry i broke your birdbath, and i know that i’m no good at math
i know i didn’t eat your casserole and i’m sorry about that lie i told...

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :

"Sorry Mom; I Was Wrong" is a humorous, kids-eye-view of humbly apologizing to his parents for several things he’s recently done wrong.

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: It sounds as though a child is playing the piano and singing to his parents, with other musicians joining in as the song goes along. Simple piano, bass, and drums accompany. Kinda Mr. Rogers/Sesame Street, kinda jazzy, very sweet and simple.

LESSON TOPIC/Keywords:
- Humility
- Confession of Sin
- Forgiveness
- Obeying your parents [and God]

KEY LYRIC: "Sorry mom; I was wrong. And you were right all along..."

LITTLE KNOWN FACT: Rob and his big brother Mike actually did do all the things listed out in the lyrics of this song:
- they were lousy “thank-you letter” writers
- they didn’t floss often enough
- they broke their Grandma’s birdbath
- they struggled with math
- they didn't like casserole
- they lied to their parents and to each other

“Stink of the World” (from the CD "Grown-Up Kid")
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2012 Rob Biagi/BMI

My brain needs washing
Living water sloshing
I got the stink of the world on me
My heart needs mercy
God, forgive me
I got the stink of the world on me

One shuffle on my iPod
Is all that it takes to forget about God and then,
Oh, no – one bratty TV show
And there I go again…

My brain needs washing
Living water sloshing
I got the stink of the world on me
My heart needs mercy
God, forgive me
I got the stink of the world on me

One little lie to my Mom or Dad
Is all that it takes to make God’s Spirit sad, and then
oh, no – an Internet video –
And there I go again…

My brain needs washing
Living water sloshing
I got the stink of the world on me
My heart needs mercy
God, forgive me
I got the stink of the world on me

Wash me clean, God
Make me new
As I read your word, God
Draw me to you

And then oh, yeah!
One simple heartfelt prayer
No more despair, oh yeah!

My brain needed washing
Living water sloshing
I got the stink of the world off me
My heart needed mercy, and
God forgave me
I got the stink of the world off me
I got the stink of the world off me
I got the stink – stink – stink – stink – stink
Of the world off me

"Sweet Sweet Love of God" (from the CD "Joy'n the Family")
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2010 Rob Biagi/BMI

God says i’m sweet when i’m really sour
He sees me through Christ
He calls me fresh when i’m really spoiled
what a sweet surprise!

taste and see that the Lord is good – mmm…

i got the sweet sweet love of God
i got the sweet sweet love of God

He sees me through Christ
He calls me “mmm!” – when i’m actually “blech”
what a sweet surprise!

taste and see that the Lord is good – mmm…
taste and see that the Lord is good – yeah! (i’ll tell you what i got)

"Sweet, Sweet Love of God" is a funky track that teaches a DEEP spiritual truth: those who have repented of their sin and trusted Christ to save them from the punishment their sins deserve are SEEN by God the Father as if they have the righteousness of Christ - because they do.

The motions really get the kids dancing, and kids can sing right along Rob's vocal, but one octave higher. This one is easy to learn, and is always a hit at Rob's concerts. The "people in the front" [and in the back] get to holler out, "sweet, sweet LOVE!" - it's fun.

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: Mid-tempo funk with lots of bass, heavy drums, and lots of vocal stacks. Kinda Stevie Wonder, kinda Prince, kinda general '70s-'80s funk/R&B. Truly a fun, feel-good track.

IF YOU'RE TEACHING:
- "...taste and see that the Lord is good." Psalm 34:8
- Forgiveness of Sin
- Repentance and Faith
- Jesus is the exclusive Savior of man - the only way to the Father

KEY LYRIC: "God says I'm good when I'm actually bad. He sees me through Christ. He calls me 'mmm,' when I'm actually 'blech.' What a sweet surprise!"

LITTLE KNOWN FACT: The guitar player on this song is named Tim Nienhuis [NINE-house]. He also plays guitar for Jana Alayra.

when you get squashed

(A: when you’re creepy…God knows who you are!)

i’m shy…
when you’re in your cocoon
God loves you!
absolutely no matter what! –
He’s got a big, big love for little, little you
“everybuggy” – God loves you!

everybuggy – God loves you!

oh! - catch the buzz about God’s love!

"The Bug Song" is Rob's biggest hit for younger kids [ages 2-7].  It's very clever [when you sin, you're being a "stink bug"].  It's also very fast, high-energy, and joyful.  Lots of opportunities to cheer, sing, dance, whoop it up!

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: Fast tempo - Acoustic band ska, pop with horns.

IF YOU'RE TEACHING:
- The Gospel Message
- "While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." - (Romans 5:8)
- God is BIG in every way, people are little [and dependent] in every way
- God has a BIG love for us!
- God makes an "informed decision" when he calls you [He knows you fall short, and He invites you to repent and be forgiven anyway].

KEY LYRIC: "When you're a stink bug, God loves you...He's got a sweet, sweet love for stinky, stinky you.  When you're a stink bug God loves you!"

LITTLE KNOWN FACT: In the key change toward the end of the song, one of the horn players hits a wrong note, and Rob failed to fix it in the audio editing process. Can you find it?

USE IT:

LITTLE KNOWN FACT: Rob wasn't really "with the kids" while recording his vocal.  He did it before the kids arrived, and just "pretended" that they were there, interrupting and taking over the song.

"V.I.P. to G-O-D" is basic, foundational theology that tell kids and families they are "Very Important People" to God.  It has been a favorite of kids worldwide since its release in 2003.

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: Acoustic band pop, rock-pop.  A swingin', high-energy, mid-tempo rock-pop song.  Bright, happy vocals sit on top of crunchy, energetic guitars. The drummer sounds a bit like "Animal" from "The Muppet Show."

IF YOU'RE TEACHING:
- You matter to God
- You were created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26-27)
- Basic, foundational theology
- "If God is for us, who can be against us?"
- Each person God creates is unique (you are wonderfully and fearfully made)

KEY LYRIC: "You're a V.I.P. to G-O-D; you were made in his image - it's easy to see..."

This track is a 14-second, "lead-in" sound effects track for the song "Skip Sleepin' In."  It should have been part of "Skip," but Rob backed off at the urging of the recording engineer.  Now, in the age of downloads, the two pieces of the song have been separated.

The sound effects are:
- a CD/alarm clock spinning & playing to awaken Rob
- Rob yawning and waking up
- Rob hitting the buttons and realizing he gets to wake up and go to church

“We Are the Crew” (from the album, “Grown-Up Kid”)
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2012 Rob Biagi Music/BMI

Livin’ a life upon the sea
What an adventure waits for me!
It’s heave - ho, heave - ho, back and forth we go
(Heave - ho, heave - ho, back and forth we go!)

We’ve got Captain for our life
His name is Jesus, Jesus Christ
It’s heave - ho, heave - ho, back and forth we go
(Heave - ho, heave - ho, back and forth we go)

We are the crew of the Captain of the ship! (aye-aye!)
He is the King; Christ the Lord
He sets the sail, we climb aboard
We are the crew; He is the Lord!

Whenever the wind begins to blow
Jesus can calm the storms, you know?!
It’s heave - ho, heave - ho, back and forth we go
(Heave - ho, heave - ho, back and forth we go!)

We’ve got Captain for our life
His name is Jesus, Jesus Christ
It’s heave - ho, heave - ho, back and forth we go
(Heave - ho, heave - ho, back and forth we go!)

"You and Me, Me and You" (from the CD "GET OUT THERE!")
words and music by ©2005 Rob Biagi/BMI

I was created to do good works
I’m ready to get out there!
I know You love my help with Your work
I’ll start with a sincere prayer

You won’t lie to me – with You I can’t go wrong, oh…
You won’t lie to me – with You I’ll grow up strong (spoken: “Lord, show me today’s adventure!”)

It’s You and me – me and You – but it’s mostly You
It’s You and me – me and You – but it’s mostly You

Followin’ Jesus – doin’ good deeds
Everybody out there!
He is the Leader – He always succeeds
The battle plan is prepared

You won’t lie to me – with You I can’t go wrong, oh…
You won’t lie to me – with You I’ll grow up strong (spoken: “Lord, You are in command…”)

It’s You and me – me and You – but it’s mostly You (whoa–whoa–whoa)
It’s You and me – me and You – but it’s mostly You (and I’m followin’ – that’s right)
It’s You and me – me and You – but it’s mostly You (whoa–whoa–whoa)
It’s You and me – me and You – but it’s mostly You

I want to fly through life with You
I want to do great things
I want to “play along” with You
Can’t wait to see what You bring (spoken: I promise – I won’t forget that…)

It’s You and me – me and You – but it’s mostly You (whoa–whoa–whoa)
It’s You and me – me and You – but it’s mostly You
It’s You and me – me and You – but it’s mostly You (whoa–whoa–whoa)
It’s You and me – me and You – but it’s mostly You

"You and Me, Me and You" is a disco song about Ephesians 2:10 [we are God’s workmanship].

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: “Philly Disco.” ‘70s-sounding. Happy, “major-chord” tonality and a killer bass line.

IF YOU’RE TEACHING:
- Good works [not to earn salvation, but out of a “glad heart.”]
- The adventure of following Christ
- The power [sovereignty] of God
- Obedience to God

KEY LYRIC: " It’s You and me – me and You – but it’s mostly You."

LITTLE KNOWN FACT: The bass guitar riff going into the bridge of this song is some of the finest bass guitar work Rob has ever heard. Rob says, “Surely you agree…?”

“You Say, ‘Imagine’” (from the CD "You're a V.I.P. to G-O-D")
words and music by Rob Biagi ©2003 Rob Biagi Music/BMI

what can i say to the God who makes my heart beat?
Who made up a plan just for me
long, long ago?
and what must i do to give You my whole heart and soul?
it’s for You i want You to know
that i am Your child

and what, what could we do – if i gave all of me to You?
and where, where would we go – if i really learned to follow?

You say, “imagine.”
You say, “follow.”
You say, “open your life to Me; you’ll see.”
You say, “imagine.”

what can i say to the God who makes my heart beat?
Who made up a plan just for me
long, long ago?
oh, what must i do – to give You my whole heart and soul?
it’s for You i want You to know
that i am Your child

and what, what will we do – as i give all of me to You?
and where, where will we go – when i give You my life and let go?

ah…You say, “Imagine.” yeah!
You say, “follow.”
You say, “trust your whole life to Me; you’ll see.”
You say, “imagine. I have something for you.”
You say, “follow. Watch and see what we’ll do!
You have given your life to Me; watch and you’ll see!”…

You say, “Imagine.”
…i will…

"You Say, 'Imagine'" is a soaring, powerful song about responding to the call of God to receive his grace and love and to respond with obedience, sacrifice, and hope.  The second chorus [in particular] is especially powerful as it swells up and takes off. Based on Ephesians 3:20 and inspired by a capital campaign at Rob's church, this song is designed to get the listener to "imagine" where a sold-out life [to the Lordship of Christ] might go.

MUSICAL STYLE/SOUND: World music, big, ambient sound.  Lots of keyboards and heavy drums.  More "adult contemporary" than the rest of the CD.  Definitely a "listening" song, but people have done dances to it, ice skated to it, and even done American Sign Language to it.

IF YOU'RE TEACHING:
- Obedience
- The Lordship of Jesus Christ
- God is our Creator; we are not our own [we must surrender to His will for our lives]
- God has a plan for you [though it may not always seem "good" - it is!]
- Being a child of God
- Surrender to God
- [biblical] Imagination and wonder :D

KEY LYRIC: "What will we do – as i give all of me to You?  And where, where will we go – when i give You my life and let go?  You say, “Imagine.” yeah!  You say, “follow.”  You say, “trust your whole life to Me; you’ll see.  You’ll see, yeah!”  You say, “imagine.  I have something for you.”
You say, “follow.  Watch and see what we’ll do!  You have given your life to Me; watch and you’ll see!..."

LITTLE KNOWN FACT: "You Say, 'Imagine'" has been used by God to inspire many people.  People have started jewelry-making businesses, drawn closer to God in regular, consistent prayer, and even increased their giving to their local churches and parachurch ministries because they sensed God challenging them with this song.

"You Shine (We're Rockin' Now!)" (from the CD "Joy'n the Family")
words and music by Rob Biagi & Russell Crain ©2010 Rob Biagi/BMI

[Philippians 2:14-15 Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe.]

i love how God made me
how God saves me
how God knows me
yeah – yeah – yeah

i love how God made me
how God saves me
how God knows me
yeah – yeah – yeah

God is the power, the glory forever

You shine and you shine and you shine and i shine
we all shine; we’re rockin’ now!
You shine and you shine and you shine and i shine
we all shine; we’re rockin’ now!

i love being God’s kid
how good He is
i’ll shout praises
yeah – yeah – yeah

i love being God’s kid
how good He is
i’ll shout praises
yeah – yeah – yeah

God is the power, the glory forever

You shine and you shine and you shine and i shine
we all shine; we’re rockin’ now!
You shine and you shine and you shine and i shine
we all shine; we’re rockin’ now!

rock it out and shout your praise!
tell the world, “we’re not ashamed. we love our Jesus! (that’s right; yes we do!)
we’re all disciples, too…”

You shine and you shine and you shine and I shine
we all shine; we’re rockin’ now!
You shine and you shine and you shine and I shine
we all shine; we’re rockin’ now!

You shine, Lord! we worship You!
