Teach Your Kids With Rob Biagi Music!

Tell your kids - “You’re a V.I.P. to G-O-D.”  “God is Holy.”  “I’m Followin’ Jesus” (if indeed you are!)

God commands us to teach the truths of the Bible to our children (Deuteronomy 6:7), and I am honored that so many of you use my songs in your churches and homes to reinforce that teaching!

In the “Lyrics & Bible Teaching Points” section of my website, parents and Children’s Ministers will find direction on which of my songs will supplement what they are teaching from God’s word. I have written songs about faith, obedience, joy, worship, Bible-verse songs, and songs about the joy and adventure of walking with Jesus.

“The world” is consistently, strategically, and aggressively teaching our kids its point of view.  We Christians must be just as disciplined and committed to familiarizing our kids with God’s way!

Def Leppard to Doo-Wop, Punk-Rock to Pirates

Why do I do so many different styles of music production on the same CD?  I've always loved LOTS of musical styles, but also...

When I listen to music that's "aimed at" my daughters, it drives me crazy when every song on an album sounds the same...

I loved the Disney music of "The Little Mermaid," "Beauty and the Beast," and "Aladdin," because the tempos, styles, and attitudes of the performances varied so widely.  Even with repeated listenings, I always found some new "ear candy."  Maybe you're the same way...?

If you are, you might LOVE my new album!  The styles range from Def Leppard to Doo-Wop, from Punk-Rock to Pirates, and from Surfer to Serious.  Dude.

Let me know if you've got a favorite song on "Grown-Up Kid."  These songs are filled with God's word, and I'm so glad you're listening.

With joy,
Rob

New CD - Do I Want Big Sales? Yeah...And Here's Why...

God promises to take care of his people (Psalm 16, Matthew 10:29-31), so I'm not overly concerned about money.  I want what God wants - that "all the world" hears of his truth, and his love.  The messages of these songs are so, so important!  And they are God's words, not Rob's (but I AM very proud of the music - ha ha).

But yeah, I pray for big sales.  Large numbers of people need to hear the truth that repentance from sin and trust in Jesus Christ to carry them through this life and into the next is required.  I also pray that true Christians would grow in spiritual maturity ("Grown-Up...) yet keep their childlike faith, joy, and zeal (...Kid").  That's why my new CD is called "Grown-Up Kid"!

Will you partner with me to get the word out about this new album?  I'd sure love your help.  If you can find churches, schools, clubs, moms groups on Facebook to talk to - we can offer these new songs and motions to them.  May God use "Grown-Up Kid" to tell kids and families that there is Good News: humans have a solution to the "Stink of the World" (our sin problem) - the Lord Jesus Christ!  Praise God for his grace...

Whew! At Least They Didn't Say "Jesus Helped Us Win..."

...'cause that would be crazy!

Members of the European golf team recently won "The Ryder Cup" (a biennial golf match between teams from the United States and Europe), saying "The spirit of [deceased Spanish golfer] Seve Ballesteros inspired us to win...He was with us all day..."  It occurred to me that if the Euros had said, "Jesus Christ gave us the strength and inspiration to win...He was with us all day..." they would have been laughed at.

Interesting...  http://bit.ly/P7xCcQ

Jesus the Life Insurance Agent?

How many of us ignore and forget about God until something catastrophic happens in our lives? Then we get intense and zealous as we pray and seek God's "blessing" to make things "right" again.

Yikes. I've done that before. Please forgive me, Lord. I've treated You - the God of the Universe - like a "good neighbor" who is "there" when I need Him. And only when I need Him. After all, a life insurance salesman doesn't move into your house and start directing your life moment by moment...but God must for those he calls, saves, loves, and for those who wish to be transformed into the image of his son Jesus Christ.

God created us.  He is the Boss of us.  But he is good!  And loving to his children!  We are to seek him, obey him, serve him, and love him with all our hearts until Christ returns.

Our lives are not our own (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).  Let's build God's Kingdom, not our own!

(Thanks to Dr. Mike Fabarez for the "Life Insurance Agent" ideas...)

Kids' Worship Didn't "Work" Last Night

Preschool boys were chasing each other around during a slow song.  The 5th and 6th graders were hesitant to sing and do the motions.  The 2nd graders had to be told to stand up several times.  Even a couple of staff kids seemed uncharacteristically uninvolved...

So - was Kids' Worship a failure last night?  I was tempted to think so.  But then I remembered that I am commanded to worship God (Col. 3:16), and encourage the children to do likewise.  It's not a "performance," whose "success" is determined by the [obvious, outward] response of the "audience."  It is sowing seeds of God's truth through song and dance.

It took me two rotations (K-4th and preschool) of struggling with discouragement, but then I prayed again, and God softened my heart.  Like I said, the 5th and 6th graders were hesitant, but my focus was correct, and I stayed encouraging and positive!

So - Kids' Worship "worked"?!  God knows, and he is in control.  I am commanded to love and serve Him the best I can (Col. 3:23), and trust Him with the outcome (Ps. 37:5).

A "One-of-a-Kind" Gig in Chino Hills, CA!

Last night I had the wonderful experience of a "Family Concert on the Lawn" at Chino Valley Community Church in Chino Hills, CA.

The crowd was HUGE and it was a night of "firsts":
- I autographed a sock for the first time.
- I autographed two pair of scissors (first time autographing scissors).
- I spoke Spanish to a young bilingual girl, then asked her, "How's my Spanish?"  She said, "eh..." while holding up her opened hand and twisting it.  Ha!

Kids of every age joined my wife and daughters and me onstage, taking turns singing and doing the motions.

We had just finished up an awesome week of "Camp Compass" at Compass Bible Church (our home church), and now the Summer Music Tour rolls on, to the Palm Springs area tomorrow.

We hope your summer of ministry is going well - for God's glory!

Good Guitar-Playing By Day, Good Lyrics By Night!

Today was "Day 2" of guitar-recording for Rob's new CD with a guitarist named Doug Jackson.   Rob said Doug played some "surf guitar," some "funk guitar," some "adoration/worship" guitar, and some "grungy rock" guitar! (hmm...a variety of styles! - sounds a new Rob Biagi CD, that's for sure!)

Here are some lyrics Rob came up with at 1:45am this morning:

"It's loud in the living room when the family worships together
The songs make me jump and groove and I bet we'll sing them forever

Oh - we love the way the guitar plays
Oh - we love to hear the children praise!

Our house is a loud house, can'tcha see?
Our house is the place kids wish to be
It's full of surprises - praise rises - from me!"

What Does God Want?

When my 7-year-old daughter Natalie wants to sing songs, she doesn't post the concert on Facebook, or with a promo video on her website.  She doesn't charge a fee.  She says, "Daddy, do you want to hear me sing?"  And after I get done wiping tears, she sings for me.  And I smile and clap and cheer.  It's just her and me, together.  Simple.

That happened recently, and that's when it hit me.  God wants me to sing for Him.  He didn't give me my singing voice so I could "go off" and amass wealth and design "a great life" for myself and my family.  First and foremost, He wants me to sing for Him.  And I trust He smiles and claps and cheers.  Him and me, together.  Simple.
